It was so wonderful to meet everyone at our first transition session on Tuesday! We hope all the students had a great time.
Our next transition session will be on Tuesday, 27th October.
Students will have a new teacher and classroom during this session but will remain with the same group of students. Changes will be made from session 3 onwards to accommodate particular placement requests and observations. Students will not be in their final class groups until the Statewide Transition Day on Tuesday, 8th December. Group lists will be posted in the sign-in area.
The sign in and drop-off process will remain the same. Students can be signed in from 8:55am and then taken to the classroom when the doors open.
From approx. 9:05am – 9:40am Peninsula Plus will be running a parent information session in the school gym.
The session, Get Prepped for Prep 2027, covers:
– What school readiness really means. It is not about writing a name or knowing letters. It is about the whole child.
– Emotional regulation, language and communication, and social connection.
– Play, independence with daily routines, and motor skills.
– Sensory needs, and what to expect in the first weeks of school.
Our Principal, Mark Henderson, will also be present to give more specific information around key dates and times for the beginning of the year.
