At our school, mathematics instruction is grounded in the four Mathematics Proficiencies — Understanding, Fluency, Problem Solving and Reasoning — which underpin all aspects of learning and teaching. Lessons include explicit instruction in the Big Ideas in Mathematics, ensuring students develop a deep conceptual grasp of key concepts and processes.

Teachers make purposeful use of concrete materials to help students build strong foundational knowledge and gradually move toward more abstract thinking. Student progress is continually monitored through assessment and observation, enabling teachers to provide targeted support and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.
