Preventing and Addressing Racism in School

Rowellyn Park Primary School is an engaging and inclusive environment inspired by shared responsibility, collaborative spirit and a continuous commitment to becoming the best version of ourselves.

Racism is not tolerated in any form at Rowellyn Park and we will take immediate action when incidents of racism are brought to our attention.

If you or your child have experienced racism in our school community, this should be reported directly to the Principal immediately on 9782 0953, as per our Complaints policy.

The Department of Education’s Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools policy can be found here.

This policy applies to all Victorian government school staff, external practitioners, contractors and volunteers working with students.

This is a statewide policy. Schools are not required to have a local policy in addition to this policy.

If you don’t feel comfortable reporting the incident to school, you can call or email the Report Racism hotline. The Department of Education runs the Report Racism hotline. It is available 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) on 1800 722 476 or via email at report.racism@education.vic.gov.au.
