Performing Arts

Our Performing Arts sessions are highly engaging, full of fun and provide students with opportunities to explore Music, Dance and Drama. Creativity and confidence are enhanced through a variety of activities. Some of these include:

  • Singing, moving and playing instruments to a variety of songs, rhymes and chants.
  • Singing and dancing to different styles of music.
  • Playing different percussion and tuned instruments such as bongo drums, maracas, rhythm sticks, glockenspiels, ukuleles, electric drum kits, keyboards and electric guitars.
  • Developing knowledge and skills with music notation and learning to play different songs on instruments.
  • Exploring acting and how to portray different characters and communicate stories through drama.
  • Learning some cultural and traditional dances
  • Creating songs, dances as well as drama skits and performing individually as well as in groups.

We also provide lunchtime activities, which include Choir, Dance team and Drama Club for students who have a particular interest and passion in these areas.

Our Whole School Concert is a huge, exciting event which takes place every second year. Students are given the opportunity to sing, dance and act on stage with their class in costumes, with lighting and in front of a big audience.

Every year we finish and celebrate the year with our Christmas Concert. Classes have a lot of fun singing and dance to their class chosen Christmas song in front of family and friends in our school gym.
